In 1986, Pastry Chef Malcolm Campbell started at Keith’s Pies, where he then went on to buy the business with his wife Michelle.
In 2007, Malcolm and Michelle took a break from the pie business to experience other sides of hospitality.
After a 7 year break, they could not keep away and decided to buy back Keith’s Pies in 2014 and have since been even more determined to provide the best quality food and at a reasonable price for the locals of Richmond.
At the front of the shop, you will find Michelle serving pies & coffees while chatting with her regular customers, whilst you can find Malcolm in the back coming up with new creative items to add to the menu.
With the influence of Social Media in Australian Society, Mal believes “it is important to stay relevant, especially with our younger customer demographic, which is why we try to do different spins on pies such as a ‘Cheeseburger Pie’ ”.
It astounds the couple, the customer base they have managed to grow even bigger since starting back. They are humbled to have customers who have been coming in for over 30 years and travel from interstate just to have a Tasty Plain Steak Pie!
